Real Salt Lake: RSL falls for seventh-straight time at Seattle, 1-0

Salt Lake City

Seattle • A new lineup, new players, yet a similar result.

Real Salt Lake lost its seventh-consecutive match at CenturyLink Field on Saturday afternoon, 1-0 to Western Conference rival Seattle Sounders. The winless streak on turf was added to once more, as the skid reached 19 straight games (0-14-5).

Deployed in a 4-4-2 formation featuring some new starters, RSL did its best to remain organized against the high-octane Sounders. But RSL allowed a first-half goal for the seventh game in a row — and that’s all the home team needed.

RSL (3-8-2, 11 points) has lost five of its past six outings.
